This month marked the 10 year anniversary of the Momenta’s Project New Orleans: Working with Non-profits workshop in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our staff, students, and non-profits all enjoyed several days of intense work, rewarding moments, and a beautiful final slideshow. With so much Momenta history in New Orleans, we’re pleased to announce registrations are open for our return to the Big Easy in 2019! Find out more and register here!
As Project New Orleans 2018 student Vanessa Burciaga said, “My experience at Momenta was way more than I would have imagined. I truly feared I would be surrounded by people that just want to talk about all the gear they have and all their mad Photoshop skills. I was so happy the people I met last week were all so invested in their organizations and cared about storytelling.”
Since our beginnings in 2008, we have watched the city rebuild itself and heal after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. While it has changed significantly, there is still amazing nonprofit work to be done. The nonprofit staff in New Orleans are fully committed to improving the lives of their fellow citizens and making their very best efforts to create a better New Orleans.
New Orleans in many ways is a second home for Momenta. If you’re looking for an experience that combines cultural festivities, learning from seasoned professionals, and working to become a force for change, this is the workshop for you.
This workshop will feature all the elements of Momenta’s traditional Project Workshop series, including the matching of students with local nonprofits, lectures on documentary and nonprofit photography, and daily 1-on-1 editing sessions.
We’ve captured ten years of beautiful moments in New Orleans. Are you ready to be a part of our next ten years? Join us today on this very special workshop by learning more here.
