Level Three Workshops

Working With Nonprofits

Momenta's Level Three NGO workshops are the culmination of what we try to accomplish as an organization. These workshops teach the basics of how to work profitably and effectively with NGOs and nonprofits around the world. These assignment-based workshops place students with working NGOs with access cleared to document the organization's projects. At the same time, workshop instructors closely work with clients to assist with logistics, edit photo story packages, and generate positive relationships with the organizations. Students are encouraged to develop a solid working relationship with their NGO that often persists past the end of the workshop. These are, in a very real way, our flagship workshops that have a direct and positive effect on both students and organizations alike.

  • Workshop participants work closely with NGOs and nonprofits to construct photo stories and essays about the work of the organizations.
  • Students are closely mentored to provide the highest quality of work and allow for guidance when issues arise.
  • Extremely high quality storytelling can take place because of the focus on a narrow band of topical material over a long period of time.
  • In a very real sense, "Photography As a Force of Change" is the primary goal. These projects are purpose-built to show visual professionals the positive impact their work can bring.
  • Instructors are culled from a group that is active in nonprofit and NGO photography and exemplify the mission-driven mindset of Momenta in using documentary work as a tool for idea generation.

Please contact our offices to be put on our mailing list to receive updates about workshops as they are added.
