The Momenta Project Workshop Scholarships provides a $500 discount off tuition per international workshop or a $500 discount off tuition per domestic workshop, as well as two Runner-up Awards of a $500 discount off tuition per international workshop and a $250 discount off tuition per domestic workshop. This Scholarship is open to any passionate photographer who displays superb talent and dedication to being a force for change through documentary work.

It is with great pleasure that we welcomed Mariana Wallig to our Project Portland 2018 workshop as the runner-up recipient of the Momenta Project Workshop Scholarships.

At Momenta, we strive to teach strong storytelling as an essential part of connecting with audiences and allowing the viewer to connect with the subject matter. As Mariana told us after winning the award,

“As an alumna of Project NOLA, I know first hand the power of connecting storytellers with the people whose stories need (deserve?) to be told. More importantly, creating such connections strengthens the ties in our communities, where our concentrated effort creates ripples that go far beyond just the local. In a world bombarded by negativity and divisiveness, I aim to work in precisely the opposite way.”

We’re looking forward to following Mariana on what is an already exciting career path and growing to become a leading voice in our community. Look at her work and follow along on her website at www.mwallig.com or Instagram @mwallig.
